Master Planning Programme

Does your training actually connect across the season?

Most coaches plan sessions. Fewer coaches plan seasons. The gap between the two is where performance is won or lost — and where players get injured.

If your training weeks feel disconnected, if you're not sure how your sessions are building toward match performance, or if you sense there's a more structured way to think about planning — you're right. There is.

About the Programme Director

The Master Planning Programme is led by Damian Roden, one of the most experienced performance and planning specialists in professional football. Damian has spent thirty years working at the highest level of the game — including roles with Manchester City, Stoke City, Anderlecht, Seattle Sounders, and the Football Association of Wales.

  • UEFA Pro Licence Instructor
  • Extensive experience delivering education and coach development programmes across club, national, and international environments

His work is built on a universal principle: that the planning decisions coaches make — across a season, a week, and a session — are the foundation of everything that happens on the pitch.

"Under Damian's management I played 37 out of 38 Premier League games, something I have not been able to achieve since. I am a big believer in his methodology and the energy he brings."

— Vincent Kompany
Former Captain, Manchester City | Manager, Bayern Munich

The Programme

The Master Planning Programme is a six-session live programme that gives you a structured, practical framework for planning across a season, a week, and a session. You will leave with:

  • A clear approach to season-long planning that reflects how football actually works
  • The ability to structure training weeks with intent and consistency
  • An understanding of how periodisation principles apply in your specific environment
  • Confidence in your planning decisions — across pre-season, in-season, and tournament periods

Greg King on this programme

"Damian's approach to planning and periodisation was central to what we achieved at Shanghai Port. This programme gives coaches the framework to apply those same principles in their own environments."
